1. Glossary

Below you will find an explanation of basic terms used in this Cookies Policy. We gathered them here in order to make it easier for you to navigate through the policy.

“Applicable laws” means all the laws and regulations relevant to the collection, processing and storage of data, especially all the data protection laws and the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (“GDPR”);

“BeyondAffiliate” or “we” or “us” or „our” means BeyondPerform OU, with a registered office at Sepapaja 6 Tallinn, 15551 Estonia;

“Beacons” or “Pixels” means small transparent images placed within a web page (here specifically: within Site). They are embedded in web pages (here specifically: Site) and enable the communication between web browser and a server. This is how companies can collect the data, make their own advertising campaigns, as well as provide related services (e. g. measuring the effectiveness of advertisements, preventing fake advertising traffic and limiting fake advertising campaigns);

“Cookies” means small text files stored in a web browser by a website (here specifically: Site) or by an ad server. By storing certain information in a Cookie, those web browsers, ad servers, and explicitly our Site, are able to remember Your preferences and recognize websites visited and/or web browser used from one visit to another;

“Personal Information” or “Information” or “Data” means any Information relating to an identified or identifiable person as defined in article 4.1 of GDPR;

“Site” means the BeyondAffiliate website beyondaffiliate.com;

“Services” means services provided by BeyondAffiliate via Site in accordance with the Terms and Conditions;

“You” means an individual that uses our Services by Site or/and an individual who uses the Site but has no access to the areas of the Site and Services.

2. Introduction

What are Cookies?

Cookies are small files that are stored on your data carrier and hold certain settings and data for exchange with our system via your browser.

Basically speaking, there are two different types of Cookies: the so-called session Cookies and temporary/permanent Cookies stored on your data carriers for a longer period or without limit. This type of storage helps us design our Site and adjust our offers to match your preferences, making it easier for you to use them, meaning that, for example, certain input from you can be stored so that you are not required to enter it repeatedly.

Which Cookies are used by BeyondAffiliate?

Most of the Cookies used by us are automatically deleted from your hard drive at the end of the browser session (hence the term “session Cookies”). Session Cookies are needed, for example, to make the shopping-basket function available to you over several pages. In addition to these, we also make use of Cookies that remain on your hard disk. On a subsequent visit it is then automatically recognized that you have previously visited us, and we know which input and settings you prefer. These temporary or even permanent Cookies (lifespan of 1 month to 10 years) are stored on your hard drive and are automatically deleted after the pre-specified period. These Cookies in particular serve to make our offer more user-friendly, more effective and more secure. Thanks to these files it is possible to, among other things, show you information that has been specially selected to match your interests.

What is on-site targeting?

On the Site we may use (third party) cookie technology for the optimization of our advertising and the entire online offer. This Data is not used to identify you personally but serves the sole purpose of conducting a pseudonymous evaluation of the use made of the home page. With this technology we can present you with advertising and/or special offers. Our aim is to make our online offer as attractive for you as possible and to present you with advertising that corresponds to your areas of interest.

Are there also Cookies from third-party suppliers (so-called “third-party Cookies”)?

BeyondAffiliate makes use of web partners who help make the online offer and Site more interesting for you. The Cookies of our partner companies also contain solely pseudonymous Data. This relates, for example, to Data about which products you have looked at, whether anything was bought, which products were searched for, etc.

3. Types of Cookies

Essential Cookies. These are first party cookies that are sometimes called “strictly necessary” as without them we cannot provide much of the functionality that you need on the Services. For example, essential cookies help remember your preferences as you move around the Services.

Analytics Cookies. These cookies track information about how the Services are being used so that we can make improvements and report our performance. They collect information about how visitors use the Services, which site the user came from, the number of each user’s visits, and how long a user stays on the Services. Clear GIFs. Clear GIFs (a.k.a. web beacons or pixel tags) are tiny graphics with a unique identifier, similar in function to cookies. In contrast to cookies, clear GIFs are embedded invisibly on web pages, and are not stored on your hard drive. We might use clear GIFs to track the activities of Site visitors and users of our Services, to help us manage content, and to compile statistics about usage. We and our third party service providers also might use clear GIFs in HTML e-mails to our customers to help us track e-mail response rates, identify when our e-mails are viewed, and track whether our e-mails are forwarded.

Third-Party Analytics. We also use automated devices and applications, such as Google Analytics (more info here) and Optimizely (more info here) to evaluate use of our Services. We use these tools to gather non-personal data about users to help us improve our Services and user experiences. These analytics providers may use cookies and other technologies to perform their services, and may combine the information they collect about you on our Sites with other information they have collected for their own purposes. This Policy does not cover such uses of data by third parties.

Behavioral Targeting and Remarketing. We use advertising platforms, including but not limited to Google Ads/DoubleClick (more info here), Facebook Custom Audience (more info here), LinkedIn Marketing (more info here), Microsoft/Bing (more info here) and Marketo (more info here), to display ads as part of our advertising campaigns. As a result, our ads may be displayed to you on a search results page or on third party sites. Our advertising partners use cookies and other technologies to collect information about your activities on our Services and other sites to provide you targeted advertising based upon your interests.  These third parties may collect your IP address or other device identifiers and combine the information they collect on our Sites with information about your visits to other sites to create market segments that they will use to more effectively advertise our services and those of other advertisers.

Custom Audiences. We may share your email address or other information with our advertising partners to assist us in reaching you with more relevant ads outside of the Sites; they are not permitted to use this information for their own or third party marketing purposes.  If you’d like to opt out of this, please email privacy@BeyondAffiliate.com. 

Opting Out of Ad Networks. If you wish to not have this cross-site information used for the purpose of serving you targeted ads, you may opt-out of many ad networks by clicking here (or if located in the European Union, click here). You will continue to receive ads on the sites you visit, but the ad networks from which you have opted out will no longer target ads to you based upon your activities on other sites. Please note, however, that these opt-out mechanisms are cookie based; so, if you delete cookies, block cookies or use another device, your opt-out will no longer be effective. Affiliate Cookies. We have a number of partners who promote our service on a success-only basis (i.e. instead of paying for advertising, we pay them commissions on sales). Cookies are required to allow us to reward these partners and these cookies are usually provided by specialist companies (known as affiliate networks). Neither us, the networks, or the partner advertising or recommending our services are able to identify you personally. We ask you to support us by allowing these cookies which ultimately help us to offer you the service we do at the price we do. BeyondAffiliate’s Use of Cookies. We may use cookies to uniquely identify you, to help us process your transactions and requests, to track aggregate and statistical information about user activity, and to display advertising on third-party sites. Generally, we use these technologies to manage content, analyze trends, monitor page visits and content downloads, administer the Sites, track users’ movements around the Sites, and to gather statistics about our user base as a whole.
